There I was, sitting at home late one night in my big chair, minding my own business and watching back- to-back episodes of Nurse Jackie.
The scene cut to the office of evil hospital administrator Dr. Michael Cruz. I sat bolt upright when I noticed that book behind Dr. Cruz’s left shoulder, The Talent Management Handbook, was one that I wrote! (And by “book that I wrote” I mean that I was one of 26 chapter contributors. And by “chapter contributor” I mean that I was the third author on that chapter. And by “third author” I mean that I brought the donuts to the editorial meetings.) Still, there’s nothing like a fake Hollywood book endorsement to make you feel better about wasting hours binging on Netflix. I have a feeling that, other than the time I gave Michael Jordan change for a dollar in 1983, this was probably my brush with greatness.
